Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum is inviting all budding animators from the West Midlands to a one-day Digital Animation Workshop for Adults on 12th June 2010. Leamington is very easy to get to on the train from Stoke-on-Trent. Sumit Sarkar, creator of the Ananta exhibition will demonstrate the processes involved in digital animation and will help you to create your own animated character. £10 per person. The same gallery is also running a “Museum Movies Film Competition”, inviting local film makers to submit short films inspired by Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum’s collections of fine and decorative art, social history, ethnography, archaeology, ceramics and glass. The five most inspiring films will be presented to the public on the mezzanine film screen in the gallery’s local history area. It is free to enter and the competition is open to all ages and abilities. Films should be submitted in DVD format with a completed submission form by 14th July 2010.
