Majestic Studios is shortly set to become a new creative studio space in Stoke-on-Trent. Currently being fitted out, the space has been set up by a recent B.A. Fine Art graduate of Staffordshire University together with several other recent graduates. The studios are in the c.1926 art-deco Majestic Chambers building, located in the centre of Stoke town…

“with many large studio spaces and a contemporary art gallery. Here we will be setting up events, exhibitions, residencies and a place to get on with your artwork. Forming a creative environment and a supportive art network, we aim to provide space and opportunities for local artists, international artists and recent graduates.”

The studios are very near to the new Studio 116 photography gallery, and to Spode which hosts exhibitions and events. Good cheap cafes and shops are on the doorstep, and it’s short walk to the city’s main train station and Staffordshire University (with academic library and art supplies shop).

“We won’t be doing any showcase or projects — just a ‘lab’ with a few like minded actors exploring the work of Stanislavski, Bella Merlin, Michael Chekhov, Uta Hagan and a few more thrown in for good measure! We’ll also explore connecting meaningfully with other actors/characters; giving 100% attention to another; looking at wants/needs over ‘motivation’ and much much more!”
